A man poured gasoline over another man and set him on fire in a south side trailer park this morning, 1200 WOAI news reports.

Officials say the incident followed a fight.

Police say the man then jumped into a pickup truck and drove into a rugged area near the trailer park, which is located along Applewhite Road just south of Loop 410.

"The victim's wife was able to put the fire out and took the victim to a nearby Valero," Police Chief William McManus said.

The man, who also suffered severe burns, was surrounded by police, and he told officers he wanted them to 'shoot him.'  Police say the man is now in custody.

The victim was rushed to San Antonio Area Medical Center's burn unit with burns over 90% of his body.
