A spectacular fire destroyed a home in east Bexar County early today, forcing a family out into the street but not causing any injuries, 1200 WOAI news reports.
The flames erupted at the home on Dunlap Fields, which is near Foster Road, about 3:30 this morning.
Eric Jones says he was inside with his brother and sister in law, when all hell broke loose.
"We woke up and heard noises, and heard popping," Jones told 1200 WOAI news. "We didn't know where the smoke was coming from. We looked down the hallway, and the garage was engulfed in flames. We got out and everything just started exploding. Crazy."
Jones says the three people managed to get out with the clothes on their backs and nothing more.
"Everything's gone. It's something I've never been through before. It's scary," he said.
County fire officials and departments from several area communities worked frantically to keep the fire from spreading to other homes.
No word on how the fire started. Jones' home and all its contents are a total loss.
