Officers scoured North Star Mall this afternoon after two men stole two money bags from an armored car driver, Newsradio 1200 WOAI reports.

  Police say two men approached the guard in front of Macy's on the San Pedro side of the mall, sprayed him with chemical mace, grabbed the money bags and ran.

  Police were searching the parking garages at the mall, after a mall security guard reported that he chased one of the suspects all the way across the mall to the McCullough and Rector corner.

  The armored car driver had to be treated for the injuries suffered by the macing.

  Both of the suspects were wearing New York Yankees baseball caps. 

  UPDATE:  One of the money bags has been found at Ahern and Rector, just south of the mall.
