The National Weather Service has issued a 'statement' warning for 'unseasonably cold temperatures in Central and South Texas from the Hill Country through San Antonio down to the Coastal Bend tonight and tomorrow night, 1200 WOAI news reports.
The forecast warns that parts of the Hill Country could see below freezing temperatures after midnight tomorrow morning, which is almost unheard of for mid April in this area. The forecast does not call for any ice or snow in the areas.
There is another chance of extremely cold weather Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, saying the thunderstorms which have been blowing through the area today are dragging in a cold front that originates in 'the Yukon Territory of Alaska.'
The Weather Channel says the threat for severe thunderstorms is to the east of San Antonio, from New Orleans to Pensacola.
The cold weather is expected to begin to move out of the area Wednesday morning and make way for seasonable conditions for the rest of the week and into the weekend.
