Two men were killed overnight in separate accidents.

Police say about midnight a motorist was killed in a single vehicle accident on I-10 and Callaghan.

He slammed his car into a large concrete TransGuide box and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Despite the rains of the past 24 hours officials say the roadway was dry and indicate that excessive speed appears to have caused the crash.

About 9PM Tuesday night, a 65 year old man was killed when he was attempted to walk across busy Highway 151 at Loop 1604, on the far northwest side near Northwest Vista College.

Police tell 1200 WOAI news the driver had a green light and it does not appear that alcohol was involved, so no charges will be filed.

The driver stopped and was on the scene when police arrived.
